Phnom Penh, Cambodia — WWF-Cambodia proudly hosted a distinguished team from WWF-Belgium for an exposure visit to critical conservation areas in the Eastern Plains Landscape and the Mekong Flooded Forest. The visit, designed to showcase impactful on-the-ground activities, highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the two organizations in various conservation initiatives.
 
During the visit, the WWF-Belgium team engaged with local communities, gaining insights into their livelihoods and learning how they actively contribute to conservation. "It was inspiring to see how local communities are integrating conservation practices into their daily lives," remarked a member of the WWF-Belgium team.
 
The delegation also met with Cambodia’s “forest and river heroes”—dedicated rangers and river guards working tirelessly to protect the country's forests, wildlife, and the endangered Mekong Irrawaddy Dolphin. Their dedication to conservation was clear as they shared their field experiences and challenges.
 
Additionally, the team discussed project progress with the Deputy Provincial Governor of Mondulkiri, further solidifying the collaboration between local authorities and conservation organizations.
 
"This visit not only highlights the significant progress of our conservation efforts but also strengthens the partnership between WWF-Cambodia and WWF-Belgium," said the WWF-Cambodia Country Director. "Together, we are paving the way for future collaborative efforts to safeguard Cambodia's rich biodiversity."
